About the Role
The Associate Manager, Carbon Projects will lead the technical development of AFOLU-based ARR carbon projects from feasibility through registration and credit issuance. The Associate Manager will be responsible for the successful document design and delivery of projects and will lead a cross-functional team to take projects to issuance.
This is an execution-heavy role with some managerial requirements. You will own project timelines, coordinate cross-functional inputs, and ensure that project documentation and calculations meet registry standards. The role requires strong methodological understanding, analytical rigor, and high-quality technical writing.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end development of ARR carbon projects under VM0047 and similar methodologies
Prepare, review, and refine Project Design Documents
Develop ERR calculations, including ARR carbon stock modelling, leakage assessment, and perform uncertainty calculations
Design baseline scenarios and strong additionality thesis for each project
Coordinate with GIS, MRV, field, and data teams to ensure accuracy and methodological consistency
Manage documentation for validation and respond to auditor and client queries
Maintain structured, audit-ready technical documentation
Qualifications
Mandatory
Minimum 2 years of hands-on carbon project development experience
Experience in AFOLU projects, specifically ARR
Strong understanding of VCS Standard, VM0047 and AR-ACM0003 methodologies
Demonstrated experience writing PDDs
Experience in ARR modelling and uncertainty calculations
Strong research and technical writing skills
Preferred
Familiarity with Verra validation and verification processes
Experience working with geospatial datasets
Experience working with carbon registries other than Verra (Gold Standard, Isometric, etc.)
