We are on a mission to empower businesses of all sizes with smart, scalable talent sourcing strategies, and we’re growing.
About This Role:
At Collavion, we are looking for an IT Systems Administrator who wants more than just “keeping the lights on.” We are looking for someone who wants to build, improve, secure, optimize, and modernize the technology infrastructure that supports a rapidly growing organization.
This role is with our client who are pioneers in offering exclusive start-to-finish window and patio door replacement - the most recognized window brand in North America for over 121 years. We strive to find highly qualified consultants to fuel our consistent on-going growth.
This is an in-office role based in Vancouver, BC, where collaboration, speed, and hands-on problem solving are part of the culture.
IT Systems Administrator Role: (This is not a help desk role)
This is a high-impact infrastructure role for an IT professional who enjoys ownership, solving complex technical challenges, and helping a business scale properly.
You will be a key technical resource responsible for maintaining and evolving our IT environment across servers, networking, Microsoft 365, virtualization, cybersecurity, and cloud systems.
You’ll work closely with leadership and operational teams to ensure our technology environment is stable, secure, efficient, and built for growth.
You will also play a major role in:
Modernizing systems and processes
Driving IT projects and infrastructure improvements
Strengthening cybersecurity and operational resiliency
Supporting a growing user base across multiple departments
Creating scalable systems instead of temporary fixes
If you enjoy building structure, improving environments, and being trusted to own critical infrastructure decisions — this is the role for you.
What You’ll Own
Infrastructure & Systems Administration
Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization platforms
Manage Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune
Oversee VMware/Hyper-V environments and server infrastructure
Ensure system reliability, uptime, and performance across the organization
Networking & Security
Manage firewalls, switches, VLANs, VPN connectivity, and wireless infrastructure
Support cybersecurity initiatives including patch management, endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, and access control
Strengthen backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
Proactively identify risks and implement preventative solutions
Projects & Continuous Improvement
Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, deployments, and technology rollouts
Evaluate and recommend new technologies that improve scalability and operational efficiency
Create documentation, SOPs, diagrams, and technical runbooks
Help drive automation and process improvement initiatives
Technical Leadership & Support
Act as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for technical issues
Mentor junior IT team members and help elevate technical standards
Partner with departments across the business to understand operational needs and deliver effective solutions
Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
3–5+ years of experience in Systems Administration or Infrastructure Support
Strong experience with:
Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
Active Directory & Group Policy
Microsoft 365 Administration
VMware or Hyper-V
Networking infrastructure and firewalls
Strong understanding of:
VPNs, VLANs, routing, and wireless networking
Backup and disaster recovery systems
IT security best practices
Experience with Azure or AWS is an asset
Experience with PowerShell or Python scripting is an asset
Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
Ability to manage projects independently and execute with minimal oversight
Strong documentation and organizational discipline
Excellent communication and professionalism
Most importantly:
You take ownership.
You do not wait to be told there is a problem.
You proactively improve systems, identify risks before they become outages, and build infrastructure properly.
You enjoy working in an environment where expectations are high, growth is fast, and your work has visible impact.
