1. Overview:
The Vertical Head is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall strategy, growth, and profitability of a specific business vertical within the company. This individual will lead a team, manage key client relationships, and drive revenue generation within their assigned vertical. The objective is to establish the vertical as a market leader, maximizing market share and exceeding revenue targets.
2. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the strategic plan for the assigned vertical, aligning with overall company objectives.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
- Manage the full P&L responsibility for the vertical, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense control.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned vertical, expanding market reach and revenue streams.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Oversee all aspects of project delivery within the vertical, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Monitor market trends and competitive landscape, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments across the organization to achieve shared goals.
- Regularly report on vertical performance to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
- Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies to drive growth.
3. Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of the assigned vertical's market dynamics, competitive landscape, and key players.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and budgeting.
- Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles.
- Experience with CRM systems and project management software.
- Data analysis and reporting skills, including the ability to extract insights from data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
4. Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a leadership role within a relevant industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and growing a business vertical.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of P&L management.
5. Skills & Experience:
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively communicating with clients, team members, and senior management. Experience presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Experience with Agile or Waterfall methodologies preferred.
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and exceeding their expectations. Proven ability to handle client objections and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Client Management: Extensive experience managing key client accounts, negotiating contracts, and ensuring client satisfaction. Ability to build trust and rapport with high-level clients. Experience with account planning and strategic account management is a plus.
