About the Role

This contract role focuses on reviewing and annotating video sessions of robotic arms completing real-world tasks, with particular attention to the audio component.

You will apply your expertise in sound design, sound editing, and audio restoration to assess audio quality, identify relevant sounds and anomalies, perform targeted edits, and produce accurate annotations for AI training data.

No prior experience in AI is required.

What You’ll Do

  • Review video sessions featuring robotic arms performing real-world tasks, focusing on audio quality and events.

  • Edit and annotate audio tracks for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.

  • Restore audio by identifying and addressing unwanted noise, distortion, inconsistencies, and other quality issues.

  • Identify and document specific sounds, events, anomalies, and other relevant audio characteristics.

  • Collaborate remotely to clarify annotation standards and resolve ambiguous audio examples.

  • Maintain accurate records of edits, annotations, and restoration activities.

  • Contribute feedback to improve audio annotation protocols and project workflows.

  • Manage assigned deliverables independently and meet established deadlines.

What We’re Looking For

  • Professional or academic background in sound design, sound editing, audio production, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience with audio restoration and sound editing techniques.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify subtle audio characteristics.

  • Familiarity with digital audio workstations and professional audio editing tools.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to clearly document observations, audio issues, and annotation decisions.

  • Experience working with real-world, non-music audio sources is a strong plus.

  • Experience with audio data annotation or technical audio review is advantageous.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment.

Engagement & Compensation

  • $50–$90 per hour

  • Annual compensation equivalent of $96,000–$172,800 based on 40 hours per week across 48 workable weeks

  • Actual earnings will depend on hours and assignments available
