About the Role

We are seeking experienced quality assurance and source inspection professionals with expertise across aerospace, defense, manufacturing, and marine inspection environments.

You’ll apply your professional judgment to evaluate inspection records, quality findings, compliance scenarios, and source inspection decisions. The work includes First Article Inspection, cosmetic defect acceptance, web and production line inspection, hull and marine survey assessment, and government source inspection requirements.

No prior AI experience is required. Your domain expertise and ability to clearly explain inspection decisions are the primary qualifications.

What You’ll Do

  • Evaluate and disposition First Article Inspection reports in accordance with AS9102 and applicable customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Assess cosmetic defects in manufacturing and assembly environments and determine acceptance or rejection with documented technical justification.

  • Conduct virtual hull and marine survey assessments using provided documentation, inspection data, and technical information.

  • Analyze web and production line inspection data to identify quality trends and inform source inspection recommendations.

  • Apply knowledge of Government Source Inspection, including DCMA protocols and FAR Part 46 requirements, to inspection scenarios.

  • Provide clear written and verbal feedback explaining inspection findings, decisions, and technical rationale.

  • Create high-quality inspection reports and datasets reflecting expert judgments and supporting rationale.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience conducting complex quality inspections, with significant experience in First Article Inspection, cosmetic inspection, or production line disposition.

  • Deep familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.

  • Practical knowledge of government inspection criteria, including DCMA and FAR Part 46.

  • Experience in US aerospace or defense manufacturing, or marine surveying within regulated environments.

  • Demonstrated expertise in hull and marine survey processes and standards.

  • Strong ability to document inspection decisions and clearly explain technical reasoning.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with digital tools used for documentation, reporting, and remote collaboration.

Preferred Experience

Experience as a senior QA inspector, supplier quality engineer, DCMA Quality Assurance Representative (QAR), or marine surveyor is strongly preferred.

Engagement & Compensation

  • $60–$100 per hour.

  • Annual compensation equivalent of $115,200–$192,000 based on 40 hours per week across 48 workable weeks. This is an annualized full-time equivalent and does not represent guaranteed annual earnings.
