We are seeking experienced Level 3 / Tier 3 Network Engineers and Principal Support Engineers to help structure and annotate real-world networking data used to develop AI-driven infrastructure systems.
This role combines hands-on network troubleshooting, packet analysis, incident response, and root-cause analysis with data annotation and classification. Your networking expertise will help define how AI systems understand network behavior, failures, anomalies, and production incidents.
This is a hands-on network maintenance and escalation role rather than a network architecture or design position.
Review real-world networking data, including logs, configurations, telemetry, and event streams.
Label and classify network behaviors, incidents, anomalies, and failure patterns.
Analyze networking events and identify likely causes, symptoms, and operational outcomes.
Apply your troubleshooting and incident-response expertise to evaluate networking data.
Help define schemas, classifications, and structures for large-scale datasets.
Provide domain expertise that supports downstream machine learning and AI systems.
Current or recent experience as a Level 3, Tier 3, Principal Support, or equivalent Network Engineer, handling final escalations, outages, troubleshooting, on-call responsibilities, and root-cause analysis.
Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise customer networks, including switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and related infrastructure.
Experience supporting enterprise environments such as retail, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, higher education, or hospitality.
Strong enterprise Wi-Fi/wireless networking experience.
Experience with technologies such as Cisco WLC, Aruba, Meraki, 802.1X, and RADIUS.
Hands-on packet-level troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and SPAN captures.
Strong incident investigation and technical troubleshooting skills.
Interest in how infrastructure data is transformed into inputs for machine learning and AI systems.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
This position is best suited to engineers who maintain and troubleshoot production networks and regularly handle complex escalations.
It may not be the right fit if your current focus is primarily:
Network architecture or design
Cloud or SRE
Cybersecurity or SOC operations
IT helpdesk or first/second-line support
Hours: 30–40 hours per week.
Schedule: Availability must overlap with Pacific Time (PT) business hours.
Work arrangement: Fully remote.
Engagement: Individual independent contractor (1099).
Billing: Personal accounts only; no agency or corporation-to-corporation billing.
Must be authorized to work in the United States or Canada without sponsorship.
Payments are made weekly based on services rendered.
Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on project requirements and performance.
H-1B and STEM OPT candidates are not currently supported.
Apply your real-world network operations expertise to advanced AI development.
Help shape how AI systems understand production networking environments.
Work directly on data used to improve intelligent infrastructure systems.
Combine deep technical networking experience with emerging AI and data workflows.
Ideal Candidate: A hands-on L3/Tier 3 network support professional with strong enterprise networking, wireless, packet analysis, incident response, and RCA experience who is interested in applying that expertise to AI data and autonomous infrastructure.
