Compensation: $90–$150/hour (approximately $187,200–$312,000 annualized, based on 40 hours/week)
We are seeking experienced M&A attorneys to contribute their legal expertise to the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems.
This opportunity is designed for attorneys with strong experience in mergers and acquisitions, contract drafting, negotiation, review, and redlining who are interested in applying their practical legal judgment to cutting-edge AI research.
In this role, you will evaluate contract-related AI workflows, assess model responses to M&A scenarios, and provide expert feedback to help improve how AI systems interpret legal language, identify risk, and apply sound legal reasoning.
Perform simulated M&A contract negotiations and redlining exercises.
Review and evaluate AI-generated responses to transactional and M&A scenarios.
Provide detailed, actionable feedback to improve AI accuracy, reasoning, and output quality.
Develop objective evaluation frameworks and grading criteria for M&A-related legal tasks.
Help refine legal data, guidelines, and best practices for AI-driven contract review.
Collaborate with product and research teams in a cross-functional environment.
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
2+ years of M&A experience within the corporate department of a law firm.
Familiarity with standard M&A agreements, including Asset Purchase Agreements (APAs) and Stock Purchase Agreements (SPAs).
Strong experience with contract drafting, negotiation, review, and redlining.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
Ability to translate legal expertise and judgment into clear, actionable feedback.
Interest in the intersection of law, technology, and AI.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment.
Prior experience with AI, legal technology, or legal training/evaluation initiatives.
Experience advising or working with private equity firms.
Broader experience across complex corporate transactions.
