Japanese Bilingual Expert - Remote

Role Overview

Contribute to an AI language-training project by evaluating Japanese audio and helping improve AI systems’ understanding and generation of Japanese. You will assess fluency, pronunciation, naturalness, and linguistic authenticity, providing clear feedback that supports high-quality model performance.

This is a remote contract role. Prior AI experience is not required.

Compensation

$30–$60 per hour

Responsibilities

• Listen to Japanese audio clips and evaluate the speaker’s or model’s fluency and naturalness.

• Assess pronunciation, intonation, and linguistic authenticity against established guidelines.

• Document evaluations in clear, concise English, including detailed justifications for your assessments.

• Identify linguistic nuances and provide insights that support improvements in Japanese language understanding and generation.

• Collaborate with project coordinators to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities in language content.

• Complete assigned audio-review tasks accurately and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in Japanese, with natural fluency and clear enunciation.

• English proficiency at B2 level or above, including strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and explain nuanced language differences.

• Strong analytical skills and a commitment to consistent, accurate evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in voice specialization, linguistics, phonetics, music or audio engineering, or a related field.

• Experience with audio analysis, transcription, or linguistic assessment.

• Familiarity with media, communications, or teaching.

You are a fluent Japanese speaker with a strong ear for linguistic detail. You can assess audio for naturalness and authenticity, explain your judgments clearly in English, and work independently while meeting quality and delivery expectations.
