Job Description: Manager – New Product Development (NPD)
Role Summary
The NPD Manager will lead the end-to-end development of new plastic injection-molded products from conceptual design to mass production. This role acts as a bridge between the client, tool room, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure delivery within cost, quality, and timeline constraints.
Key Responsibilities
Project Lifecycle Management: Lead the execution of APQP/PPAP processes for all new product developments.
Feasibility & DFM: Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews and technical feasibility studies on customer designs.
Trial & Validation: Oversee mold trials ($T_0$ to $T_f$), troubleshoot component defects (warpage, sink marks, flash), and establish optimal process parameters.
Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with Mold Design, Tooling, Production, and Quality departments to ensure seamless project handover.
Client Engagement: Direct client interactions for technical requirement gathering, progress reporting, and engineering change management.
Key Requirements
Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Polymer Engineering / Post Graduate Diploma in Tool Design (CIPET/NTTF/GTTC).
Experience: 8–12 years in NPD within a plastic injection molding or automotive component manufacturing setup.
