Position Overview

IVP is seeking a detail-oriented Data Engineer with strong expertise in SQL and ETL processes, along with exposure to the finance domain. The role involves building scalable data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting financial data analysis and reporting systems.


Key Responsibilities

1. ETL & Pipeline Development

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion and transformation

  • Implement data validation and error-handling mechanisms to ensure high data accuracy

2. Database & SQL Architecture

  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction and analysis

  • Design and manage data warehouse schemas (Star/Snowflake)

  • Perform performance tuning on large datasets to improve efficiency and reduce latency

3. Financial Domain Implementation (Good to Have)

  • Collaborate with finance teams and analysts to model financial concepts such as asset classes, P&L attribution, and risk metrics

  • Translate business logic related to trades, settlements, and positions into technical data transformations

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards (SOX, GDPR, PCI-DSS)

4. Data Quality & Governance

  • Establish frameworks for data quality checks and anomaly detection

  • Maintain data lineage, documentation, and data dictionaries for audit and compliance


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in Data Engineering or similar role

  • Strong proficiency in SQL with experience in complex queries and optimization

  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and pipeline development

  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake schema)

  • Basic knowledge of financial domain concepts

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


Good to Have

  • Experience working with financial datasets or trading systems

  • Knowledge of compliance standards like SOX, GDPR, or PCI-DSS

  • Exposure to large-scale distributed data systems


Soft Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
