About The Role

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical Remote Web Research Specialist to join our growing operations and research team. As a Web Research Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive online research, collecting and validating data, monitoring industry trends, and maintaining accurate research databases. You will work closely with operations, sales, marketing, product, and business intelligence teams to gather reliable information that supports strategic initiatives, lead generation, competitive analysis, and market research.

You will evaluate the credibility of online sources, ensure the accuracy and completeness of collected data, and present research findings in a clear and organized manner. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple research projects in a fast-paced remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Web Research & Data Collection

  • Conduct comprehensive online research using search engines, company websites, industry databases, public records, and other reliable online sources.

  • Gather, organize, and maintain accurate information related to companies, industries, products, markets, and business contacts.

  • Research business profiles, executive information, company financials, industry classifications, and organizational structures.

  • Identify and collect relevant information for lead generation, prospecting, and business development initiatives.

  • Compile research findings into structured spreadsheets, databases, and internal systems.

  • Ensure all collected information is accurate, complete, current, and properly documented.

Data Verification & Quality Assurance

  • Verify information by cross-checking multiple reliable sources.

  • Validate contact information, company details, and business data for accuracy.

  • Identify duplicate, outdated, or inconsistent records and recommend corrections.

  • Perform regular quality checks on research outputs to maintain high data standards.

  • Ensure research follows internal guidelines and quality assurance procedures.

  • Escalate ambiguous or conflicting information for further review when necessary.

Market & Competitive Research

  • Monitor industry developments, emerging trends, and competitive activities.

  • Conduct competitor research, including products, services, pricing, market positioning, and customer insights.

  • Analyze market opportunities and summarize key findings for stakeholders.

  • Track industry news, company announcements, partnerships, acquisitions, and product launches.

  • Support strategic planning through comprehensive market intelligence reports.

  • Assist with benchmarking studies and competitive landscape analysis.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales teams to support lead generation and prospect qualification.

  • Collaborate with Marketing to provide market insights and audience research.

  • Partner with Product and Business Intelligence teams to gather industry and customer information.

  • Communicate research findings clearly through reports, presentations, and documentation.

  • Participate in team meetings, project planning sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities.

  • Respond to ad hoc research requests from cross-functional stakeholders.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain organized research documentation and databases.

  • Prepare reports, summaries, dashboards, and presentations based on research findings.

  • Document research methodologies, sources, and validation processes.

  • Update internal knowledge bases with new information and research insights.

  • Track research progress, project timelines, and completion metrics.

  • Ensure confidential information is handled according to company policies.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies.

  • Learn and adopt new research tools, techniques, and automation platforms.

  • Identify opportunities to improve research workflows and data collection processes.

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of professional experience in web research, market research, business research, data research, lead generation, or a related field.

  • Excellent online research and information-gathering skills.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

  • Experience using search engines, online databases, company directories, and public information sources.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Microsoft Word, and Google Workspace.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
