1. Overview:

The Flexible Plastics Packaging Specialist is responsible for supporting the procurement and supply chain management of flexible plastic packaging solutions for the organization. The role focuses on identifying, developing, and managing relationships with suppliers to ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of materials.

2. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of raw materials and suppliers for flexible plastic packaging
  • Research and develop technical specifications for packaging requirements
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Conduct market research to identify competitive pricing and availability
  • Monitor and update daily prices and market trends
  • Manage order placement, delivery schedules, and quality control
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with packaging needs
  • Track and analyze supplier performance metrics to identify areas for improvement

3. Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of flexible plastic packaging materials and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in packaging design and engineering principles
  • Expertise in materials testing and evaluation methods
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management and procurement best practices

4. Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in flexible plastic packaging procurement or supply chain management

5. Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in using ERP or supply chain management software preferred
