We are seeking PhD-level chemistry and computational chemistry experts to contribute specialized scientific expertise to the development and evaluation of next-generation AI systems.
In this role, you will apply advanced knowledge of chemistry, computational methods, scientific reasoning, and research workflows to design and evaluate challenging problems, assess AI-generated reasoning, analyze scientific data, and provide expert feedback. Your work will help improve how AI systems learn, reason about complex chemistry, and perform on real-world scientific tasks.
We welcome experts across a broad range of chemistry disciplines, including experimental and computational research.
Design, evaluate, and critique chemistry and computational chemistry problems, workflows, and scientific reasoning chains for AI benchmarking.
Provide expert-level analysis of reaction mechanisms, synthesis planning, spectroscopy, molecular simulations, and electronic structure methods.
Assess experimental protocols, simulation parameters, and scientific software configurations for accuracy, reproducibility, and appropriate application.
Analyze chemical, spectroscopic, and computational simulation data and provide actionable scientific recommendations.
Apply domain expertise to support the development and validation of chemistry-focused AI models and tools.
Evaluate scientific reasoning and identify inaccuracies, gaps, or inconsistencies in chemistry-related outputs.
Communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical collaborators.
Document findings, methodologies, workflows, and best practices to support effective knowledge transfer.
Applicants with deep expertise in at least one of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
Organic synthesis and reaction mechanisms
Inorganic and organometallic chemistry
Physical and theoretical chemistry
Analytical chemistry and spectroscopy
Computational chemistry and molecular dynamics
Cheminformatics and drug discovery
Materials science and polymer chemistry
PhD in Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
Hands-on research experience, including wet-lab research for experimental disciplines or extensive simulation-based research for computational disciplines.
Deep expertise in at least one relevant chemistry or computational chemistry specialization.
Professional written and spoken English at C1 level or higher.
Proficiency in Python and/or relevant industry-standard scientific tools used within your area of expertise, such as Gaussian, ORCA, Psi4, GROMACS, LAMMPS, or RDKit.
Strong quantitative, analytical, and scientific reasoning abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and explain complex technical concepts clearly.
Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous scientific problem-solving in complex chemistry domains.
Academic experience as a postdoctoral researcher, research scientist, faculty member, or equivalent.
Peer-reviewed scientific publications, patents, or contributions to open-source scientific software.
Experience with AI/ML-assisted chemistry workflows or scientific benchmarking.
Background in drug discovery, reaction prediction, or retrosynthesis.
Role type: Independent contractor
Work arrangement: Fully remote
Location: Worldwide
Openings: 50
Compensation: $45–$90 per hour
