About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse interested in helping improve artificial intelligence in healthcare? This remote contractor opportunity allows you to apply your nursing knowledge to AI training, clinical response evaluation, and evidence-based healthcare content development.

As a Nursing Subject Matter Expert, you will review AI-generated nursing and clinical-care responses, evaluate step-by-step clinical reasoning, and develop expert-level content. You will assess outputs for accuracy, clarity, safety, and relevance while identifying issues involving patient assessment, triage, escalation, medication safety, infection prevention, patient education, and care planning.

Your clinical expertise will help improve how AI systems communicate healthcare information and respond to common nursing and patient-care scenarios.

Project availability notice: There is no immediate project assignment for this role. Qualified experts may be contacted when relevant opportunities become available and considered for future projects through the expert network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop AI training content: Create detailed prompts and gold-standard answers covering nursing assessment, triage, patient safety, care planning, education, and clinical documentation.

  • Evaluate AI-generated responses: Review, compare, and rank outputs based on clinical accuracy, reasoning quality, clarity, safety, and contextual relevance.

  • Assess patient-care recommendations: Evaluate nursing interventions, monitoring plans, and care recommendations for appropriateness to the clinical situation.

  • Review clinical assessment and triage: Check interpretation of vital signs, symptom progression, recognition of red flags, and appropriate escalation pathways.

  • Evaluate medication safety: Identify potential medication-related concerns, missing precautions, and inappropriate advice within the scope of nursing practice.

  • Check infection prevention guidance: Assess recommendations involving infection control, safe care practices, and relevant precautions.

  • Verify healthcare information: Identify factual inaccuracies, unsupported assumptions, unsafe guidance, and inconsistencies in clinical explanations.

  • Improve AI reliability: Provide precise written feedback and test outputs for potential inaccuracies and bias across different care settings and use cases.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent nursing qualification, with active licensure or registration, or eligibility, in at least one jurisdiction.

  • Three to five or more years of professional nursing experience in a clinical or community setting.

  • Strong clinical assessment and prioritization skills, including vital-sign interpretation, red-flag recognition, escalation pathways, and safe patient handoffs.

  • Solid understanding of common disease processes and nursing interventions across acute-care and/or outpatient settings.

  • Exceptional attention to detail when identifying unsafe assumptions, missing contraindications or precautions, and inappropriate clinical advice.

  • English proficiency at a minimum C1 level.

  • Ability to evaluate clinical consistency, including timelines, symptoms, monitoring frequency, and medication-related logic at the nursing level.

  • Understanding of care-setting requirements, including emergency departments, inpatient wards, and outpatient environments.

  • Ability to work independently and maintain consistent quality in a remote contractor workflow across time zones.

Preferred Experience

  • AI data training, annotation, or AI response evaluation.

  • Clinical documentation review.

  • Utilization review.

  • Nursing education or clinical training.

  • Healthcare writing or editorial quality assurance.

Core Skills and Expertise

Patient assessment, clinical reasoning, triage, escalation, patient safety, care planning, infection control, patient education, medication safety fundamentals, clinical documentation, SBAR communication, nursing interventions, and English-language communication.

Work Arrangement and Compensation

  • Work arrangement: Remote, independent contractor.

  • Compensation: Up to $65 per hour.

  • Schedule: Flexible, subject to project requirements and availability.

  • Payment: Weekly payment for approved work, according to applicable project terms.

  • Interview: Required; conducted in English.

  • Availability: No immediate project is available. Qualified candidates may be considered for future assignments through the expert network.

The estimated annualized equivalent of up to $124,800 assumes 1,920 working hours per year. It is not a guaranteed salary or a promise of continuous project work.

Why Consider This Opportunity?
