SAP ABAP Developer (100% Remote)

SUMMARY

Responsible for leveraging SAP to deliver and implement moderate to highly complex technical solutions that add business value to the organization. Under minimal supervision, will perform program activities based on technical specifications and will be called upon to provide expert technical knowledge. Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support for the application development team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems and 7+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development and strong knowledge of data modeling, development tools, and performance tuning. Knowledge of commonly-used technical concepts, practices, and procedures within SAP. Comprehensive understanding of SAP PI/PO functionality and architecture. Ability to create technical specifications to meet objectives of functional specifications and requirements studies.

Strong analytical, organizational skills and the ability to problem solve, multitask, prioritize and work independently. Excellent communication, and time management skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Provide technical support to business users by translating business requirements into technical solutions as well as translating complex technical concepts into business language.

• Develop technical solutions to meet business needs in accordance with established standards.

• Conduct root cause analysis on business application defects to implement solutions that prevent problem reoccurrence. Document the corrective action taken on support issues in order to increase the support knowledge base.

• Evaluate current system capabilities to identify changes that need to be made and determines the impact on the business. Ensure that programming and software requirements fulfill business objectives.

• Negotiate technical solutions before changes are implemented.

• Ensure all technical solutions are well documented and update documents as changes are made

• Test technical changes and collaborate with business system analyst on functional, integration, regression and business user acceptance testing and sign off.

• Monitor ABAP programs using tools such as Runtime Analysis, Code Inspector, SQL Trace, and System Log.

• Develop overall technical system design and prototypes of major system components.

• Adhere to DON defined methods, standards and policies for development and operation of systems.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
