We are seeking experienced Graphic and Editorial Design Experts to evaluate and refine visual design work across print, digital and publication projects. This opportunity is suited to professionals with a background in graphic design, editorial design, layout design, publication design, art direction or brand design.
You will review a range of creative materials, including posters, publication covers, page layouts and branded assets, assessing their visual quality, readability, consistency and alignment with project briefs. Your work will involve evaluating typography, layout hierarchy, spacing, color, image placement and the relationship between visual and written content.
You will also identify technical issues that could affect final production, such as incorrect file formats, low-resolution images, margin problems or print color inconsistencies. Clear written explanations of your assessments will be an important part of the role.
Design Evaluation: Review graphic and editorial design concepts, including posters, covers, page layouts and brand materials, and determine which options best meet the intended brief and audience needs.
Layout and Composition: Assess visual hierarchy, spacing, alignment, balance and the overall organization of design elements.
Typography and Readability: Evaluate font selection, text formatting, readability and how effectively typography supports the design's purpose.
Color and Visual Consistency: Review color choices and assess how text, images and graphic elements work together.
Brand and Publication Alignment: Determine whether designs follow the supplied brief, brand guidelines or publication style.
Production Quality Control: Identify technical issues that could affect output, including incorrect file formats, insufficient image resolution, margin errors and print color concerns.
Design Comparison: Explain the strengths and weaknesses of different design approaches and recommend the most suitable option for the intended use.
Decision Documentation: Provide concise written explanations supporting design assessments so that reviewers can understand the reasoning behind each recommendation.
Professional experience as a Graphic Designer, Editorial Designer, Layout Designer, Publication Designer, Art Director, Brand Designer or in a related design role.
Practical experience creating or reviewing designs for print, digital platforms, publications, studios, publishers or clients.
Proficiency with professional design applications such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop or Figma.
Strong understanding of layout principles, typography, visual hierarchy, spacing, color theory and image composition.
Experience working on real design projects involving creative briefs, revisions, production files and final delivery to clients or publishers.
Ability to assess design quality, readability, technical accuracy and suitability for the intended audience.
Understanding of print and digital production requirements, including image resolution, file formats, margins and color specifications.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to explain why one design works better than another.
Clear written English communication skills.
Experience in publishing, editorial production, advertising, branding, creative agencies, graphic design studios or digital content production is beneficial. Candidates who have managed design projects from initial briefs and revisions through to production-ready files and final delivery are particularly encouraged to apply.
Application: Submit your resume and a short professional profile highlighting your graphic, editorial or publication design experience.
Design Interview: Complete a short conversation about your professional experience with design briefs, layouts, revisions and production workflows. No advance preparation, written assignment or review of materials is required.
Experience Review: Your professional background will be assessed against the project's requirements.
Onboarding: If selected, you will receive the relevant project guidelines and instructions.
Initial Task: You will begin with an initial task, which will be reviewed before you proceed with further assignments.
