About the Role

As a Backend Java Developer, you’ll use your backend engineering expertise to contribute to projects focused on training and improving next-generation AI systems. You’ll work with real-world technical requirements and apply your experience in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices to help deliver reliable, scalable software solutions.

No prior AI experience is required. Your backend engineering expertise and ability to produce high-quality technical work are what matter most.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.

• Build and support robust microservices architectures for complex application requirements.

• Review technical specifications and translate requirements into reliable, maintainable code.

• Develop and work with REST APIs, backend services, and distributed application components.

• Identify and resolve performance, reliability, security, and scalability issues.

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.

• Troubleshoot, debug, test, and optimize backend systems.

• Document technical processes, solutions, and implementation details clearly.

• Collaborate effectively with distributed teams in a fast-paced remote environment.

• Apply strong engineering judgment to improve the quality and maintainability of backend solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Strong professional proficiency in Java.

• Hands-on experience developing backend applications with Spring Boot.

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and design principles.

• Experience building and working with REST APIs.

• Ability to write clean, efficient, scalable, and maintainable code.

• Solid understanding of backend development best practices and data structures.

• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical requirements.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with remote teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Experience working with AI-driven, data-intensive, or technically complex applications.

• Background in high-availability, distributed, or scalable systems.

• Experience optimizing backend performance and reliability.
