Data Scientist

About the Role:

We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist with 2-3 years of substantial experience in data science to become a vital part of our rapidly growing team at Bijnis. In this role, you will work on key problems that leverage data-driven decision-making to enhance our B2B e-commerce platform. You will address complex challenges, including but not limited to personalisation, inventory management, and search optimization. Key Responsibilities: 

-Utilize advanced data processing, analytical modelling, and visualisation techniques to derive deep insights from market-level supply and demand data, translating them into actionable strategies. 

-Implement state-of-the-art personalization algorithms that significantly enhance user experience and engagement across our platform. 

-Analyze existing data to identify new growth opportunities, guiding strategic business decisions. 

-Design, build, and deploy machine learning models to create highly personalized marketing campaigns that resonate with user behaviors and preferences. 

-Develop and refine search algorithms to improve relevancy and ensure that users find what they need with minimal friction. 

-Use predictive analytics and data-driven strategies to optimise demand forecasting and streamline inventory management processes. 

-Design and implement personalized promotions, discounts, and coupons that drive user engagement and retention. 

-Lead the charge in proposing and implementing innovative solutions. 

-Take ownership of the entire model lifecycle, from development through deployment, ensuring continuous improvement and iteration based on rigorous testing and user feedback. 

-Evaluate model performance using sophisticated metrics and effectively communicate findings through compelling visualisations. 

-Maintain a cutting-edge understanding of advancements in natural language processing (NLP), deep learning (DL), and other relevant domains, applying these learnings to enhance our platform. 

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

-Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a closely related field. 

-2-3 years of robust experience in data science, with a preference for experience within e-commerce domain. 

-Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, with a deep understanding of their application in data science. 

-Extensive experience in SQL and MongoDB for efficient data extraction and manipulation. 

-Strong familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn, with hands-on experience in model development and deployment.

-Expertise in natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning (DL), with a proven track record of applying these techniques to real-world problems. 

-Working understanding of data-driven product personalization and recommendation systems is preferred. 

-Exceptional analytical abilities with a sharp problem-solving mindset, capable of tackling complex challenges with innovative solutions. 

-Experience in deploying machine learning models on AWS, with a focus on scalability, security, and performance optimization. 

-Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A strong team-oriented approach with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
